Description : An 18k gold scarf pin with Egyptian scarab. The scarab dates from the New Kingdom, c. 1570 - 1075 BC, with nicely carved body and well-defined legs, the base with symbols of protection including an ankh, traces of green glaze remaining. The scarab is set into a well-crafted 18k gold pin which is in itself in choice condition and ready to wear. Pin length 2 3/8 in (6 cm), scarab measures 14 x 9mm. Pin comes with original business card from Antiquities Merchant Abd-El-Rahim El Sha’er, Cairo, with his hand written notes on the back dated August 18, 1922. Ex Abd-El-Rahim, Cairo
