Anmerkung : Adolph Jentsch stored many of his artworks in a barn on a farm belonging to his dear friends the Von Funcke's with whom he lived for many years. Sadly, in 1975, the barn caught fire resulting in the tragic loss of much of Jentsch’s work from over 40 years. The present lot was one of the works in that barn, which is why is it singed along the margins. Olga Levinson (1918-1989) is the author of Adolph Jentsch published in 1973 by Human & Rousseau Publishers.
