Anmerkung : Preliminary sketch on the reverse. Born in Riversdale, Shany van den Berg investigates and interrogates the critical contemporary themes of womanhood, family and connectedness to the world around us. Van den Berg uses multimedia expressions of drawings, paintings, collages, textile, and bronze sculpture. There she reconstitutes her stream of consciousness - as both fable and history. This all binds together as a layered map - both of the artist's interior solitary landscapes and of more universal concerns.
