Anmerkung : Commonly known for his scenes of the Cape Malay Quarter and District Six, Alexander Rose-Innes also had an interest in figures and portraits of everyday people engaged in everyday activities such as selling flowers, reading and fishing and domestic interiors.
In 1986, the artist was honored by the University of Pretoria when they hosted a retrospective exhibition of his work and awarded him a medal for his contribution to the arts in South Africa.
Today his paintings form part of many collections of South African masters in galleries, museums and private collections such as the Rupert Museum in Cape Town, The SASOL art collection in Stellenbosch and the Château Des Tesnières Museum of 20th Century South African Art in France.
