Condition_report : The canvas appears to be unlined. There is some very minor craquelure to the upper left corner of the work and there are a small number of cracks scattered throughout the paint surface. There are two punctures in the canvas to the upper centre of the work, above the sitters shoulder, measuring approximately 1 square cm. each and 3cm. apart. There is a dent to the canvas, but no puncture, within the orange area that meets the figure's shoulder, approximately 5 cm. below the aforementioned punctures. There is an area of flaking and associated paint loss to the left of the figure's left arm where the blue ground shows through, as visible in the catalogue illustration. Examination under ultra violet light reveals no evidence of retouching or repair.
