Das ist der Preis für die folgende Bewertung: Small Egyptian Clay Figures

Beschreibung : A group of 3 small Egyptian clay figures, c. 4th-1st Century BC. The first a small head of a man with very pronounced facial features and detailed facial lines, H: 5.7 cm. He is wearing a headband and head shape and the angle of the neck are very similar to those seen in Amarna sculpture. The second figure appears to be a fragment of a monkey resting its head on its hand, probably a Barbary Ape which were brought to Egypt to be kept in colonies by temples where they were considered to be vessels that could be inhabited by the gods, H: 7.9 cm. The third figure appears to be a votive figure of an animal, probably a ram, H: 6.2 cm. With its strange shape it could have been a sling bullet decorated as an animal. Ex property from the collection of Joseph Klein (1899-1987), New York City. Mr. Klein sought out and acquired these souvenirs as part of his vast collecting interests. Said to have collected in the manner of an 18th century connoisseur, his overall collection showcased his diverse array of artifacts acquired over a period of 45 years and included the art of ancient China, Egypt, Persia, Greece and Rome.
