Das ist der Preis für die folgende Bewertung: Rare Romano-Egyptian Redware Portrait Jug

Beschreibung : Egypt, Romano-Egyptian Period, ca. 30 BCE to early 2nd century CE. A beautiful, mold-formed redware pottery jug with an expressive portrait peering out from the obverse side. The captivating countenance presents with bulging, almond-shaped eyes beneath thin, sweeping brows, a thick nose with flared nostrils, full cheeks with shallow nasolabial folds flanking full lips curled into a smirk, and a bulbous chin with an incised central cleft. Diagonally incised bangs frame the rounded face beneath a stippled upper fringe, and a fillet of flowers and grassy bunches line the top of the vivacious visage. The planar base enables the stability of the jug, and a squat handle next to the wide-mouthed neck allowed this vessel to be used as a container for various liquids or oils.
