Das ist der Preis für die folgende Bewertung: Glazed Scarab
Beschreibung : Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A petite scarab amulet that was hand carved and enveloped with lustrous, turquoise-hued glaze. The beetle-form topside exhibits a folded wing carapace, sinuous legs retracted beneath the body, and a triangular head with a frilled clypeus, a suspension tube runs lengthwise through the body. The bottom bears the images of two scorpions with large pincers and curled tails. Scorpions were evocative of the goddess Serqet (also Serket, Serquet) who was believed to protect the physical corpus and bodily fluids of the deceased while in the afterlife. Size: 0.7 L x 0.4 W (1.8 cm x 1 cm)
