Inlaid faience circles, rectangles, and leaf-shapes form a wide border around the edges and across the center. The faience ranges from a pale green to a deep, water-like blue. Blue faience was meant to reflect the color of the river Nile both on earth and in the afterlife, and was a sacred material for that reason.
