A beautiful cast-bronze furniture finial depicting the head of Horus, the falcon-headed god of the sun. The head exhibits characteristic avian features like a heart-shaped face, petite eyes beneath thick brows, and an aquiline beak, and beneath is a single incised groove indicative of a wesekh collar. The raptorial visage is framed within the striated lappets of a tripartite wig, The hollow interior cavity suggests that this head was once an adornment for a steerable record book which contained sacred texts and was guided by priests during processional occasions.
