He was elected Master of the London Gunmakers' Company in 1703-4, was Gunmaker to Ordnance, 1685-1717, to the East India Company in 1716, the Hudson's Bay Company, 1687-1722, and to the Royal African Company, 1721-3. He died in 1723The side-plates are almost identical to that on the breech-loading flintlock rifle of circa 1690 by Jacques Gorgo sold from the W.
