Finely sculpted, standing with his feet together on a low plinth, his arms crossing at his chest, each hand clutching a large hoe, a seed sack over his right shoulder, wearing a rectangular pendant from a simple cord and an elaborately-pleated sash-kilt that exposes his corpulent stomach and chest, the central pleat of the forward-projecting triangular apron inscribed with the owner's name, now largely lost, the upper portion of the bipartite wig composed of zigzag curls radiating from the crown, the lower portion echeloned, his broad face with slanted eyes, the upper lids and brows modelled, with a slender nose and smiling lips, the filtrum indicated, preserving pigment throughout, including black for the wig and red for flesh tones 10 7/8 in. (27.6 cm.) high
