Beschreibung : A large and very bright Egyptian net consisting of hundreds of blue faience tubular bead, Late Period, c. 664 – 332 BC, the beads very well preserved with bright, royal blue and are strung in a lovely diamond pattern. The net measures a sizable 26.5 in in length. From the Mr. and Mrs. Goddard Dubois antiquities collection, which was acquired during their extensive travels in Egypt in the early 20th Century. The collection was on loan and exhibited at the Museum of Man, California, for six months in 1968. The museum still retains some pieces from the Dubois collection today. Only a few pieces from this collection have been offered for sale. The beaded net includes a copy of a letter from the Museum of Man dated November 1, 1968, a copy of the loan documentation, a copy of the item number and inventory label from the museum exhibition, and newspaper articles detailing the original owners and documenting the collection of this item between 1901-1907.
